The Bridge Tank, in collaboration with the Maritime Research Center, recently hosted a webinar focused on the Australia-UK-US alliance (AUKUS) and its underwater domain awareness (UDA) framework. The webinar aimed to explore the strategic, military, and political evolution of AUKUS, approximately nine to ten months after its inception, and highlight the potential contributions of the UDA framework. High-ranking guests, including Ambassador Sina, provided insights into the geopolitical context of the Indo-Pacific region and discussed how AUKUS serves as a response to regional challenges, particularly amidst China’s rising influence. Additionally, speakers emphasized the role of UDA in bolstering border security, safeguarding maritime interests, and enhancing operational capabilities in the area. The webinar also included a Q&A session, allowing for further exploration of key topics and insights from participants.
