About the Event
A decade of Sagar: aligning vision with reality through underwater domain awareness (UDA) is a webinar hosted by the Maritime Research Center (MRC), Pune, in collaboration with M/s NirDhwani Technologies Pvt Ltd (NDT). Scheduled for April 16, 2025, from 1600 to 1800 hrs IST, it marks ten years of India’s SAGAR vision—Security and Growth for All in the Region—launched in 2015. The event will explore how the Underwater Domain Awareness (UDA) framework supports India’s leadership in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) by enhancing strategic security, sustainable development, and digital transformation. Bringing together policymakers, researchers, and maritime experts, the webinar will review SAGAR’s progress, assess India’s maritime capabilities, and propose a roadmap for the Indo-Pacific, emphasizing tools like Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) and indigenous innovation.
