Enhancing Coastal Management: Interaction with the Coastal Communities in the Tropical Waters– MRC’s Initiative

The Maritime Research Center (MRC), partnering with Nirdhwani Technology Private Limited and ClimaCrew, is organizing a webinar titled “Enhancing Coastal Management: Interaction with the Coastal Communities in the Tropical Waters” on April 3, 2025, at 4 PM IST. This event aims to unite underwater domain experts, researchers, policymakers, academia, and fisherfolk from India’s coastal communities for an open dialogue. Focusing on digital transformation in coastal and riverine areas, the webinar will explore challenges and opportunities to enhance sustainable practices, boost livelihoods, and build resilience against environmental and economic shifts. The program includes introductory remarks by Nishtha Vishwakarma, opening remarks by Dr. (Cdr) Arnab Das, and presentations from experts like Shlok Nemani on digital tools, Ayush Sawadh on field insights from Veraval and Ratnagiri, and coastal community representatives from Maharashtra and Gujarat. International perspectives from the Philippines and a keynote by Capt. Kapil Dev Bahl will enrich the discussion, concluding with closing remarks by Mr. Ashwin Shroff and a vote of thanks by Mr. Praful Talera.
