About the Event
The “Charting Progress: Mid-Internship Insights from UDA Summer Interns from IITs” is a webinar scheduled for 28th June 2025 at 4:00 PM IST, organized by the Maritime Research Center (MRC), Pune in collaboration with Nirdhwani Technology Private Limited. This online event will showcase the mid-internship research progress of interns from IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Madras, as part of the Underwater Domain Awareness (UDA) Summer Internship Program 2025. Designed to foster innovation and collaboration in maritime research, the event aims to present key research outcomes, facilitate knowledge exchange, and provide constructive expert feedback. Topics covered include neural network applications for ocean acoustics, dark ship detection using satellite data, digital transformation for noise and sediment management, coastal monitoring, and strategic undersea cable protection. Each intern and mentor will deliver a 10-minute presentation, followed by expert commentary from academic and industry leaders such as Mr. Gopal Krishna Pillai, Amb. Anup Kumar Mudgal, and others. The event exemplifies MRC’s mission to build capacity and drive sustainable development in the Indo-Pacific’s maritime domain through the UDA framework.
