About the Workshop
The webinar presents the Brahmaputra River as a dynamic transboundary socio-ecological and strategic system, proposing Underwater Domain Awareness (UDA) and Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) as integrated governance tools to move beyond conventional river management. It addresses challenges related to climate change, flooding, sediment transport, riverbed morphology, ecosystem degradation, navigation, and underwater acoustic environments, while also engaging with geopolitical sensitivities, water diplomacy, and regional security. By bringing together interdisciplinary and cross-border perspectives, the forum aims to strengthen sustainable river governance, climate resilience, and cooperative frameworks across the Brahmaputra basin.
