The Webinar on the Indian Ocean Security Framework will focus on the Underwater Domain Awareness (UDA) Framework for Effective Security in the Tropical Waters of the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). As the Indo-Pacific becomes a crucial arena for global power dynamics, the Indian Ocean’s strategic significance has grown due to its political sensitivity and economic potential.
Hosted by the Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies (NESA) in partnership with the Maritime Research Center (MRC), this webinar will explore the complex challenges and opportunities within the IOR. The UDA framework, developed by MRC, aims to integrate policy and technology interventions with capacity building to address issues like submarine proliferation and non-state actors’ capabilities.
